Patar 2015 (Year-ender Trip)

It has been my self policy for several years now to visit this place before the year ends. I always feel that my year won't be complete without abiding with the calmness and peacefulness of Patar. I can still remember the first time I set foot on its fine flesh sand and the first time I walked on its soft shore collecting shells and funny looking stones and coral remains. I can't even remember when was the first time. All I know is that I fell in love with Patar back then.

Patar is not in the league of Boracay and other luxury beaches but it is surely one of the best spots to visit when you just want to get away with the noise of the city. It is an estimated 7-hour travel from my place in Caloocan and I really get bored in the travelling part but since I always go there with some friends, I can bear the long hours of sitting in a cramped vehicle feeling impatient of waiting to see any signs of the sea.

This year is my fourth visit in Patar. Since some friends live there, we didn't have any trouble looking for a place to rent for a five-day stay. We even got some discounts and freebies in addition to the cottage. You don't really need to book ahead of time if this is your destination because there will be a lot of resorts that will cater to you. Some backpackers are just setting up their tents beside the sea and stay for as long as they want (as long as it's not raining of course).

I merely rested on the first day because I felt so tired due to long hours of travel and we tried to catch the sunset since we arrived there at almost 4PM? I can't remember but I can recall Jolan and me running on the shore because we wanted to take some pictures though, we were not able to because she was too lazy getting her device from her bag. So we just watched it and waited for dinner.

Before I slept, I convinced my self to wake up early the next morning and have a morning walk to the nearby hill and do some exercising but I still woke up late. Too bad. My days are always not productive because it's really not my thing to wake up early (and I badly wanna change it). So I always end up with enjoying the afternoons and the sunsets while everyone is already taking their rests after doing a lot of things in the morning.

And I love it when the rays of the sun hit my face. It makes want to just sit on the sand and stay for a little longer till the sun hide its huge light below the horizon.

Jolan, Sheine, and I decided to take a stroll on the beach the next day. It is their first time to be in the place and I wanted them to see how majestic the view is but before we left, some local children who were selling souvenirs approached us and persuaded us to buy. Stuff were cute by the way.

We headed to the beach but we didn't swim because it is very hot so we just enjoyed taking some photos while having our usual chit chats.

It's a bit early when we got back to the cottage so I still had time to pamper my nails (which is an addiction btw). So yeah, I did my nails on a table facing the sea, enjoying the warm breeze under a shade. I might be the only person you'll know who does her nails on the beach. I always have my mani set wherever I go and I think it's one of the coolest places to prep nails in.

Despite having been here several times, there are still so many things to discover, so many things to experience, and so many things to enjoy. Last year, I went trekking with my brother and climbed a steep hill to a cliff that is overlooking the sea and he took this photo:

Now going back to the same place but no one to take my picture so nagsariling sikap na lang ako. My brother kasi wasn't able to come due to some schedule issues at work and he's always a buddy when it comes to adventure and discovering places so I felt a bit sad about it. But anyway, I took a photo on the same spot:

And I wanted to take advantage of that time to take more photos to show you guys how the view from the top looks like.

Of course I won't let this time pass without having this as my background. :p :p :p

This is actually a bit scary because I felt like a sudden blow of the wind will send me falling on the sharp stones below (and you know what will happen next). But before getting there, I needed to trek in bushy and thorny trails.

The paths were also steep and it was a bit irritating when small leaves of some wild plants stick on you. It's itchy and they sometimes prick.

The tide is usually low in the morning from 4:45 AM to 8 AM. The tide will rise from late noon to night so we usually had to go for a walk in the morning to be able to see the clear sea bed, probably 50 meters from the seashore.

It's amazing to see the huge waves coming towards where I stand. However, these huge waves are strained by thousands of seaweeds making it less bigger as it approaches the shore. This will give you a unique experience of playing with the waves...

And meeting some cute mollusk friends along the way. ^^

Cute eyes there!

And this one seems to be wearing a bohemian skirt.
There are some areas that are not reached by the waves and because the water becomes stagnant, it will give you an instant hot spring with very clear water.

PS: I don't own all photos in this post. Some of them were taken by my friend, Jolan here.
