Banchetto!

After mingling with brothers and sisters in the assembly hall after the session, some of my friends wanted to buy dresses for tomorrow. We headed to the nearest mall to shop.

Ate Sheine and Jolan needed to go home early to prepare for tomorrow and Kristine will meet her brother so they left us at the mall.

We were feeling hungry because it's almost 9:00. Good thing there is a new banchetto place in the old terminal in front of the mall. We went there to check the foods and the place is cool. It was like a mini version of the banchetto in Ortigas. There were so many people and delicious smell is everywhere.

Take a peek of what we had for the night. Indeed a street food experience!

Banchetto's target market is people from the BPO companies who are alive at night so this place will be alive overnight because there are two big BPO companies around.

Anyway, we really had a great time because the foods were cheap but very delicious.

Greenwich After the Bible Study

Esther lost her eye glasses and decided to buy another one, which costs a lot. However, when she was about to buy a new one, she found her glasses in her room. So she decided to treat us from the money supposedly for the new glasses. So she texted me after work to meet them in Fairview Terraces, a new mall in the city.

After work, I headed to my Bible studies and after the sessions, headed straight to FT for a dinner with her. She also informed Ate Liezel and her husband, Kuya Weng.

Spaghetti, chicken, and pizza for me. It's a bit hard to choose what to eat when you are not in the mood to eat. Haha.

And here's us waiting for the orders.
I really feel good whenever I am with these people. We don't just talk about our day but they also encourage me with a lot of spiritual things. Kuya Erwin is our coordinator and indeed, he has a lot of advises whenever I am facing things. Ate Liezel was my Bible teacher and one of my bestfriends, who always tells me how to face spiritual and emotional challenges. Esther is also fun to be with because we have the same experiences (not exactly but almost).

So after eating, we decided to stroll in another mall. So these are in SM Fairview.

We still didn't want to go home. We had coffee and ice-cream in the nearest Mc. Donalds and stayed there till late at night. What a day!

Let's do this again. ^^

These People

They went in my room one day and had these moments with me. I remember having a bad day this time because of some circumstances but I ended this day with a smile. ^^

A Night in Manhattan

After a very tiring day from work, I received a message from my friends to meet them in a mall coz we're about to visit Ate Tria (inviting us oer her new place). We haven't met for a year so I was excited. They were already waiting for me so I hurried up even if I was still in a program at school. I didn't finish the program because I was so dizzy and sleepy (because I wasn't able to sleep the previous night), and I was thinking of the travel time from school to my friend's house.

Ate April and Ate Alex are in Robinson's Galleria already and they had been waiting there for several hours already. It felt a bit inconvenient for me because I wanted to go home first. I was carrying a lot of things kasi and it felt so uncomfortable because I know it will rain in any minute.

So when I arrived in Robinson's, we headed immediately to Cubao, in Ate Tria's new condo. We ate dinner after fixing some things; had an ice-cream party that night as well.

I was really groggy in the morning that I didn't recognize where I was. Funny to think that I thought I was in a hospital because of the white walls but well, there was a great view on the window, and yeah, I suddenly remembered where I was.

Goodmorning Manahattan then.

One thing we always do when we are together is the endless food trip; So we headed to the nearest Shopwise and shopped ingredients for carbonara. Pasta party in an instant.

Ate April went home early so the three of us were left.

An Open Letter for Rosalie

Dear Rosalie,

Let's Talk About Heartaches.

"Heartaches are part of growing up." It's an old cliche that most friends tell us when we experience one. People come and go. Some may leave marks in your heart and some will leave scars. We often wonder if we will ever survive after a heartbreak but YES. We will.

One good thing about posting your "Single" in-a-relationship-status in FB is that you get a lot of messages and greetings after. People start to ask if they can now go out with you and those who kept a secret admiration will now be able to let themselves free.

You need to give yourself a chance. You need to tell yourself that now is the time to be happy. Let us not use violence as revenge because HAPPINESS IS THE BEST REVENGE, always remember that.

You have to be happy. Surround yourself with people who are not going to remind you what happened in the past instead, will teach you how to enjoy life despite the wounds. Surround yourself with people who will tell you that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL (like the picture below) inside and out; that you are intelligent and the person who let you go away is dumb (for loosing a wonderful girl like you); that you are a sweet girl who just wants to love and to be loved; that you don't deserve to be treated as a rag, like someone who is worthless.

You see, you are very young and you have a lot of future ahead of you. Don't let anyone make you feel like your life is not meaningful just because someone left you. There are people out there who wants to love and take care of you more than you thought you need to.

You don't deserve to be an option but a CHOICE...
Be happy. Love and be loved. Enjoy life. <3

Your friend,
Joan ^^

Drama Fest 2014

The first ever Dramafest 2014 was held last Friday in Room 211, BCP MV Campus. After my last class, I went straight there to check if the sets are already prepared and if there are some things to be taken care of. The show started right after and I am so proud to see my students showing their skills in acting, dancing, and singing.

And because it's "Theater", I really stayed to see all the performances. So many students surprised me. Let me mention some of them.

Joe Paras.
I heard she won the best actor award (portraying a role of a man) for The World is an Apple. She speaks English very well. I have been telling her that she sounds good when she speaks English since I have heard her speak in my class, but I didn't know that she can also act so well.
Mejo napansin ko lang na nawalan ng confidence at the latter parts of the play but still, it was a very awesome performance.

Jeryl Ombid.
I noticed that she sticks in her character and she's never lost. One good thing about her is that she is INSIDE her charsacter. She's confident and her eyes are acting when she doesn't have any dialog.

Cinderella and the Prince's kiss.
It was totally OM!~~
Nakakaloka ang lip-lock ni Raymund Macaraeg and Celeste Bartolome, which, really, really (not shock because everyone's already expecting it) made everyone fix their eyes on them. I think no one blinked in that part.
Well, I like the professionalism. Business is business and whatever happens in the play will remain in the play. It's good that they really did it despite everyone's reaction and without any hesitations.
Unfortunately for the play, it was a bit disappointing. (You know me. I don't sugarcoat!)

Too bad I don't have a picture of "the kiss". This is the best that I got. Just this rehearsal photos. Hmp!

There is really a CHEMISTRY!
Jerah Dalumpines
For playing Nena in New Yorker in Tondo, she did it quite well. She's pretty sureof her lines and she's not holding back.

Angelie Roda
Aling Atang in New Yorker in Tondo. For Angelie's personality in the classroom, her performance in the said character really surprised me.

Julius Brion
You acted so naturally. Really. ^^

Jonalyn Cernardo
I really felt your character in the play. It was a supporting character but you really nailed it.

Froilan Palattao
MY FAVORITE ACTOR EVER!
If only you know how much you have blown me away by your performance in the play! I remembered one of the persons I handled/directed before who was totally like you. You are not ashamed of what you are doing, even if you have out of this world characters in several plays you did. Your eyes and every single part in your body is acting. If you will pursue theater, I know you will really succeed!

Jocell Barotil
You were the most beautiful lady in the room that night! Everyone fell in love with you when you entered the stage and acted as Maria Makiling. The role fits you and your beauty lighted the room. For a moment, I really thought it was Maria Makiling in front of me because you really took the character inside you and acted like she's really you. I love you here dear! You are really really good because just like Froilan, everything about you is acting, which is a mark of a good actress.

Rei Jean Nadate
You were really good at dancing.

These are the people who left marks in my memory. You actually made me keep on smiling as I was walking home with Joni Hermosura. Sorry if I wasn't there to witness the awarding because I really need to go somewhere. I heard that the BEST PLAY goes to 2102.

Maria Makiling really deserved it. Nothing more. Nothing less. You all know why.
The real fight is on the FINALS. I'll see you again. Surely. Impress me.

Pero... Manalo man o matalo, panalo kayong lahat sa akin! I am very proud of you guys!
